Prayers to the Virgin
These prayers to the Virgin are
accompanied by illuminations showing the Virgin, the Virgin and Child or
the Pietá. In the Frick Hours, the Obsecro te is preceded
by an enthroned Madonna and Child with two angels, one holding a lute,
the other a lyre. Accompanying the O intemerata is a miniature showing
the Pietá, St. John the Evangelist and Mary Magdalene who holds
her ointment jar.
