ENGLAND: Tewkesbury Abbey

The  Exterior -East End

At the lowest level of the East End is the chevet of 14 th century chapels. The Decorated windows have the distinctive feature of many cusps in the center lights.
The blank East wall now pierced by two windows, indicates where the Lady Chapel was, when pulled down under the orders of
Henry VIII's commisioners. There are two arches, that of the entrance to the chapel and that of the chapel high vaults. The choir roof may be seen above the chapels.
