Exercise 2A Introduction to Architectural Styles


This exercise consists of ten works of medieval art, each one on a separate webpage. Each page has an image of a medieval building at the top. Look at it carefully and see if you can tell to which period the it belongs to:  either Early Christian,  Romanesque, or  Gothic. At this stage you are not expected to be able to give reasons.

Type the name of the style in the box provided. Then click on the "Answer" button to see what the answer is. You cannont proceed to the next question until you answer the current question correctly.

Identifications are given in small letters below the answer: they are for information only.

The answer will appear in a little window. When you answer correctly and click on the button at the bottom of that window, the next question will appear in the main window.
